Earn Your Keep (EYK) and On-Target Earnings (OTE) -- What's The Difference and How They Work Together

We use a system called Earn Your Keep (EYK) to help you grow your base salary by hitting important milestones. You start at a lower base that is defined during your final interview, and as you prove your value ("earn your keep") and hit specific goals, your salary increases step-by-step — all the way up to your target base.

OTE means On-Target Earnings — your total potential monthly income if you also earn commissions, bonuses, or performance incentives.

Here’s how it works:
EYK = Your salary growth path

OTE = What you can earn if you perform well

Note: If you're already at your max base pay after hitting the final milestone and earn more bonuses = You can go beyond your OTE based on your monthly performance.

Want to earn a higher base pay and OTEs? Then leveling up and taking on the next role is the way to go!

About the Role

Lycan is looking for a proactive Business Administrator who loves turning chaos into clarity—managing documents, budgets, vendors, and schedules so our innovators can move fast and build boldly.

Role Overview

Sitting at the center of finance, HR, procurement, and general operations, you’ll be Lycan’s operational Swiss-army knife. Your job: keep cash flows tracked, contracts compliant, supplies flowing, and leadership informed—giving every department the structure it needs to focus on growth.

Primary Objectives

  • Operational Coordination: Own calendars, meetings, emails, and cross-team logistics to eliminate friction.

  • Procurement & Budget Control: Source vendors, negotiate rates, and track spend vs. budget in real time.

  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain organized digital files for contracts, permits, and finance records, ensuring audit readiness.

  • Reporting & Insights: Deliver weekly dashboards on program/project tractions, expenses, cash burn, and outstanding approvals so leaders make faster decisions.

  • Day-to-Day Operations: Assist in the day-to-day operations and tasks across all key departments

Key Tasks & How They’re Done

  1. Vendor & PO Management: Collect quotes, create purchase orders, log deliveries in a shared tracker—preventing stockouts and budget creep.

  2. Expense & Invoice Tracking: Reconcile receipts with budgets in Google Sheets; flag overruns early.

  3. Calendar, Email, & Meeting Control: Build shared calendars, prep agendas, capture action items—keeps executives on mission.

  4. Document Filing & Compliance Checks: Use GDrive/Notion folders with version control; create renewal reminders for permits and contracts.

  5. Weekly Ops Snapshot: Compile KPIs (cash outflow, pending POs, compliance status) into a one-page report sent every Friday.

Earning & Growth Opportunities

  • Performance Bonuses – For cost-saving vendor deals, flawless audits, or efficiency gains.

  • Path to Operations Supervisor → Business Operations Manager – Take on multisite or multi-program responsibilities as Lycan scales.

  • Cross-Functional Upskilling – Get exposure to finance, HR, legal, and supply-chain projects, setting you up for senior ops or chief-of-staff roles.
